Youth Protection Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-22
한국어로 보기The operator of the Kavy service (the “Company”) maintains this policy under the Korean Juvenile Protection Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, so that young people are protected from harmful information and can use the service safely.
§1
Our approach
The Company applies technical and operational measures across content production, publication and user posts to keep harmful information away from young people. Kavy webtoons and author content are produced with AI tools and reviewed by human editors before publication. Kavy does not currently offer content determined or classified as harmful to juveniles under the Juvenile Protection Act. If adult-only content is offered in future, it will be labelled as required by law and shown only to users who pass age verification.
§2
Protection from harmful information
- Review before posting. Episode comments and author-lounge comments pass an automated review based on Google Gemini before they appear. Sexual, violent, hateful, harassing or self-harm-promoting content is not published.
- AI author conversations. AI author replies pass an output safety review before they are shown, and conversations have a daily limit.
- Prohibited conduct. The Terms of Service prohibit sexual depictions of minors, illegal or harmful information, harassment and doxxing. Violations lead to removal and account restrictions. Sexual content involving children or adolescents is removed permanently and may be reported to authorities.
- Advertising and marketing. We do not advertise products or services harmful to juveniles. Promotional notifications are sent only with separate consent.
§3
Reporting harmful content
If you find content or a comment you believe is harmful to young people, use the comment Report function or email hello@kavy.app with where it appears (series, chapter or post) and what it contains. The Company reviews reports, suspends or removes content or restricts accounts where needed, and aims to tell the reporter the outcome.
§4
Young users, sign-up and purchases
- In the Republic of Korea, you must be 14 or older to register. If we learn that a child under 14 has registered, we delete the account.
- If a minor paid without a legal guardian’s consent, the minor or the guardian may cancel the purchase. See the Refund Policy for details.
- Parents and guardians can manage in-app purchases with device controls such as Screen Time, Apple Family Sharing “Ask to Buy” or Google Play family purchase approvals.
§5
Staff guidance
The Company briefs operators who review content and handle support on youth-protection law and harmful-content handling standards, and reviews those standards regularly.
§6
Youth Protection Officer
The Company designates the following Youth Protection Officer to oversee youth protection and handle related inquiries and complaints.
